So we have hit the HALFWAY mark!!! Deep breath because this is currently what my room looks like!

You know they say it has to look worse before it can look better? Well this is very true in my situation. Although things look like their is no way I can complete this in 4 more weeks, mark my word I WILL!
Big progress has actually happened! We completely removed the entire back exterior wall which had an old single paned slider and two huge single paned windows that caused this room to be brutally cold in the winter and scorching hot in the summer.

We also revealed all the subfloor damage under those poorly installed doors and windows and cut it all out.
Once again we jacked up the house and replaced the subfloor and repaired one of the posts that the slider anchors too.

After that we finally got the new sliding glass door in! I cannot tell you happy I am to have this done.

I also started creating the arches for my two entryways into this room. Currently we have exterior doors on the two entrances because I think this sunroom was an afterthought when it was originally built. Taking the doors off and creating arched openings will look so much more purposeful and I am excited to start the build for it. I plan to do a full blog post tutorial on the process within the next couple of weeks!
I have also been busy collecting all the "pretty" pieces for this space while all of this destruction is taking place.

I scored this Loloi rug during Amazon Prime day and I cannot wait to get this in the space!
I also started getting some of my furniture pieces, although I am still on the hunt for the perfect desk! Below is the desk chair and accent chair, both from Wovenbyrd!

I also decided to go with a laminate flooring from Shaw floors. The flooring we used throughout our entire house has sadly been discontinued. The warm tones in this flooring I think will blend well enough to not be noticeable since this space is down a level from the rest of our house.
Lastly, I got the jewelry for the space, lighting! I cannot wait to hang this beautiful chandelier from Kichler in between the beams. I also got a set of sconces from Kichler that will go on the adjacent walls. I am waiting to put them up until all of the walls are closed up but hopefully that will be done this next week.
The last big decision is to decide if we want to reuse the old doors we had on the two entries into this room as new exterior doors instead of the side windows we ordered. Would it be weird having two swing doors on either side of a slider? Not sure, but it would save us almost $900 if we went this route! So needless to say I am intrigued and probably going to try it out. Below is a picture of one of the doors being propped up where it would be to give you an idea of what I am talking about.

That about sums it up! Keep following along this next week, I promise pretty things will be coming soon!
Be sure to check out all of the other participants in the One Room Challenge here and cheer them on!
